Celebrant Declaration to Solemnise Marriages in Scotland

Please sign this declaration form if you wish to solemnise a marriage in Scotland on behalf of the Church of God Scotland. The person being granted temporary authorisation to solemnise the marriage must understand the Church of God Scotland’s requirements in solemnising a marriage. At the same time, under the Marriage (Scotland) Act 1977, the Registrar General can grant authorisation to solemnise marriages in Scotland to a celebrant affiliated to a religious or belief body, and who is supported by the office bearers of that body to conduct a marriage ceremony on its behalf. Therefore, please sign this form confirming the follow details below:
